Today, Bandi is a prominent actor in its field, owing to a long experience from working side by side in product development with our clients to find products and solutions requested by the market.
In 2012 the brand Woodroe®, containing high quality slippers made from sheepskin and wool, was created.
I 2009 Bandindustri Ltd. Shanghai Representative Office was opened. The staff in China is dealing with the local production where main focus initially was on finding products for the new brand Azzezo®, which contains a wide range of shoe accessories beyond laces and insoles.
Bandi is, alongside its textile tape production, one of the market leaders on customer packaged shoe laces and insoles on the Nordic market. In 2006 Bandi acquired shoe accessory wholesaler Tenvig (today named Goodstep AB). Shortly thereafter, all personnel and inventory was merged with Bandi in Kumla. Today, the affiliate is regarded as an well-stocked wholesaler with a well established brand portfolio. The increasing demand for a wider shoe accessory range led to an establishment with contacts at suppliers and factories in China.
Since 1997 Bandi distributes buckles and fasterners from Duraflex Group. Together with the VELCRO® Brand products they make the foundation for Bandis range of complementary products. They are also important parts, that ensures high quality, of Bandis ready-made and customer specific solutions.
In the 1980's Bandi started a cooperation with Velcro Companies and has since then been a reseller i Sweden for the VELCRO® Brand hook and loop systems.
A multifaceted product range and an early striving for progress gave possibilities for Bandi to establish themselves as a subcontractor in new areas such as protective gear, orthopedics and leisure garments. As time progressed, products made for military, personal and industrial safety equipment and other technically demanding areas has been developed and is helping to push the boundaries of Bandis textile tapes and complete solutions in the respective product areas.
In 1938 Bandi started producing shoe laces for a flourishing Swedish shoe industry. The location for the company, Kumla, was natural as its surroundings inhabited many of Swedens large shoe manufacturers at this time. When demand rose on braided chords investments was made on machinery that could increase manufacturing and special tools for consumer packaging was built. Bandi invested soon in its own dye-works with abilities to dye yarn as well as textile tapes. Owing to a close partership with the Nordic industries Bandi was soon acknowledged as specialists on technical textile tapes and chords.
